Professional Development
The UTHSC College of Nursing is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation. We use evidence-based ANCC criteria to plan, implement, and evaluate high-quality Nursing Continuing Professional Development activities.
The goal of the College of Nursing NCPD Unit is to plan and offer professional development opportunities to individuals for continued personal and professional growth.

Speaker: Debra Bingham, DrPH, RN, FAAN, is the founder and CEO of the Institute for Perinatal QI, which has the mission of expanding the use of improvement science in order to eliminate preventable maternal and infant (perinatal) morbidity and mortality and eliminate perinatal racial and ethnic disparities. She has developed and led several state and national quality improvement initiatives that have reduced maternal and infant mortality and morbidity. Dr. Bingham has more than 30 years of perinatal clinical experience. She was the first Executive Director of the California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative, a Vice President for the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses, and an Associate Professor of Healthcare Quality and Safety at the University of Maryland.
