Rebecca Burrow is an Instructor for the University of Tennessee (UT) Health Science Center, joining the faculty of the College of Nursing in August of 2022. She received her Diploma of Nursing from Baptist Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Union University. She completed her Master of Science of Nursing Degree in Nursing Education with a focus in Maternal-Child Health at Union University in 2017. Burrow is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing program at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C), a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP), and a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE).
Burrow has experience in Women’s Health nursing and Forensic nursing. She has worked in inpatient labor and delivery units in the Memphis and Jackson, Tennessee, areas. She helped establish a high-risk pregnancy outpatient setting in Jackson, Tennessee. She has also worked in neonatal intensive care, coronary critical care, and correctional institutional nursing care.
Burrow's teaching responsibilities include providing clinical and didactic instruction in the Accelerated and Traditional BSN program in Reproductive Health and Health Assessment. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health, the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health, the Menopause Society, the Southern Nursing Research Society, the National League for Nursing, the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nursing, and Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society.
