National Hospital Patient Safety Week and 11th Annual QIPS Day

Our 11th Annual 2024 Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Day  (QIPS) was a great success thanks to the efforts of so many teams sharing their stories, lessons, and successes. We featured 19 Quality Improvement Teams working on a variety of projects.  Six Teams presented oral podium presentations with 13 Teams displaying their QIPS work as posters in the Medical Mall.  It was exciting to see how many folks are engaging in these efforts, and we are only getting started!  Please review our schedule for the 2024 event with all our teams and their presentations and posters.

Congratulations to Kara Robinson, BSN, RN, CPN, CCRN; and Kristi Ramirez, BS, RTT, from the Pediatric Critical Care Team on being recognized as the "Top Presentation" by our esteemed panel of judges.  The project, "Journey  to Zero Harm:  Reducing Unplanned Extubations in Pediatric Patients."  Their team has done amazing work to reduce unplanned extubations in our NICU and PICU through development of standard work, visual awareness, and team-based care, with lessons learned from immediate ACA review of events and ideas garnered from our partnership with the Solutions for Patient Safety network.

Similarly, the poster session depicted great efforts spanning Erlanger Health to align care with organizational priorities and patient requirements.

It is truly a delight to be partnered with you and we are looking forward to the next ideas, lessons learned, and breakthrough changes that advance our noble cause.
